Hi all. Casa Java is owned and run by Jo, Teodora, Andrew and Rebecca. We all have a strong interest in food and the food business so we decided to start Casa Java when we moved from Taihape to the Kapiti Coast. One of the main reasons we decided to move was the area; its beauty, the lifestyle and the opportunities and benefits our kids would have here.

At Casa Java we serve Spanish Tapa’s. We emphasize good fresh healthy food and have included a juice bar serving 'made from scratch' smoothies. Spanish Tapa is originally food that was provided for people to attract them to drink at bars. The food was provided free as a small plate of tasty nibbles. A Tapa meal is made up of a collection of interesting and nutritious small plates, which is a rather delicious departure from the traditional kiwi meal of ‘meat and two veg’.

We place great importance on sourcing healthy, fresh ingredients. We use organic, free-range eggs and most of our products are sourced from local suppliers. We also do a lot of gluten and wheat free cooking to cater for people with special dietary requirements who often have great difficulty finding something tasty when they dine out. We take great care in the ingredients we use, from flour to oil; we really care about what we put on your plate. Our head chef grows his own cherry tomatoes, which you have to taste to believe!

You're welcome to come down, taste the difference and enjoy a coffee, smoothie or meal in our sunlit courtyard or inside our cafe area. We are open Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 8:30am to 5:00pm. We are also open for functions, so please drop by or give us a call on 299 0063.
